Wheelchair Rugby

Sports and activities Dsport Activities

Wheelchair Rugby is a mixed team sport for male and female athletes. Created for tetraplegics, but open to all disabled athletes, it combines elements of basketball, rugby and ice hockey.

Played indoors on a basketball court, players compete in teams of 4 to carry a ball across the opposing team's goal line. Full contact between wheelchairs is an integral part of the sport as players use their chairs to block and hold opponents.
