Paraclimbing is Sport Climbing for athletes with disabilities. Athletes are placed into a Sport Class based on their disability, to allow those with a disability of a similar nature to compete within the same category. If approved by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), Para Climbing will be added to the LA 2028 Paralympic Sport Programme.

 

There are 3 indoor rockclimbing venues in Wellington which are accessible and have been used by our members.

 

Fergs Kayaks

Fergs Kayaks Wellington has a 13m high marvel with something for everyone. Whether you’re an absolute beginner or a total whizz they have an option for you. As well as a full 30 rope top rope climbing gym they have a unique and separate lead climbing room as well as a bouldering area.

Hang Dog Climbing Centre

Hang Dog have a range of walls which cater for everyone. The also have a number of clubs for young people aged 8 - 15 years who wish to climb regularly.

Clip 'n Climb Hutt Park

Clip ‘n Climb is climbing walls meet theme park in an exciting new leisure concept for all ages and all climbing abilities. They have 24 climbing walls, a total of 27 challenge, that provide healthy, challenging fun for everyone.
