From scenic rides around the waterfront or along the coast or on quiet country roads, to river trails or mountain biking in one of the many regional parks. There are also cycling routes such as the Peka Peka to Otaki (PP2O) shared path and cycleway, or the longer Coast35 trail from Paekakariki to Otaki.
Cycling New Zealand clubs
There are 10 Road and Track and CX and Mountain Bike clubs affiliated to Cycling New Zealand and many more bike clubs and groups not affiliated, based in the Wellington Region.
WORD, founded in 2013, helps to develop children and young people into passionate, lifelong mountain bikers. They deliver organised mountain-biking adventures, programmes and camps for 5-17 year-olds in Wellington.
